We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to come and help us with our numerous projects and there are two ways to get involved.
We work very closely with UK based volunteer organisation, Original Volunteers. They have a long and successful history and we enjoy a great relationship with them. If you would like to know more about them and their package, please take a look at the Tanzania volunteer page here: http://www.originalvolunteers.co.uk/destinations/africa/tanzania.html
You are also welcome to contact us directly if you would like to volunteer. Please use the Contact Us page to get in touch.
What’s it like volunteering in Tanzania
The Original Volunteers page (link above) has some really useful information about the projects, and what to expect. Very soon we’ll also be including testimonials and blogs from ex-volunteers here, so be sure to check back.
One of our ex-volunteers included information about our projects in a travel diary and advice book, not only is there plenty about Itagitwa, it also chronicles his trip through Africa, the people he met on the way and includes handy tips on what it can be like travelling for the first time alone. You can currently get a free digital copy on his website: www.thetravelblogs.com.
Finally, remember this, the mind set of people who want to volunteer is that of a kind heart. For this reason alone, you can be assured that the people you meet and share your experiences with while volunteering will become a friend for life.
Are we expected to work seven days a week?
If you want to you can, but we understand you also want to enjoy some personal time while in Tanzania and explore a bit further. We work closely with local tour agencies to bring you some wonderful weekend activities including safaris, hikes, ancient sites and more. There is a lot to do in our corner of the world.
So what are you waiting for, we look forward to welcoming you to Iringa soon!
